Annie Cheney
Instructor: Run Club+ Coach
I am a full-time mom to sons Leslie (2023) and Orian (2025), and I found FIT4MOM when I was looking to befriend other local moms when Leslie was just five weeks old. I rejoined while pregnant with Ori (toddler Leslie in tow) and jumped at the chance to be more involved as a Run Club+ coach.
I grew up in farming and ranching communities in Nebraska where my parents coached track (including my mom through the births and rearing of my younger siblings -- an awe-inspiring example I try to emulate and see reflected throughout the formidable FIT4MOM Village). Having competed in high school track & field and collegiate cross country myself as well as for fun with running clubs in Serbia and San Francisco, I'm now excited to share the joy (and let's be real, challenges!) of running in this chapter of life with other moms.
I'm trained as a journalist, epidemiologist, and political scientist and continue to work on issues related to peace, conflict, and health. I'm also an avid reader, and you can often find me at the library, a local bookshop, or at Lit4Mom.
