Oh Baby! in the Bay Area

Hey you, yes you mama! What's the hardest part about being pregnant?

Maybe you have a LOT of answers to this loaded question, but I bet that the answers are very different right now than before March 2020. Before the pandemic, as a mama myself who has gone through pregnancy multiple times, I could complain about the ankle swelling. The nasea. The back aches. The million doctor appointments.

But now, in pandemic world, I would say community. Motherhood is lonely and scary. Many of us are the first of our friends to be pregnant. Or don't have any local pregnant friends. Family doesn't live nearby. We read #allthebooks but still have more questions. A community is what we all need, and mamas, especially pregnant mamas, need it more now than ever before.

Another challenge of pregnancy is movement. Not just tying your shoes or getting up from a chair. I'm talking about what feels safe, and what IS safe for your body. Trimester by trimester. Exercise is critical to a healthy pregnancy (with your doctor's approval and without any complications).
